Nubbies is a blind box figure series by Mighty Jaxx in collaboration with Sesame Street. It's the first collectible series to offer a phygital experience.

By scanning the embedded NFC chip and authenticating each Nubbies via the Mighty Jaxx app, users unlock its digital counterpart, allowing for cool interactions with Sesame Street characters. Additionally, a campaign rewards the highest-level Nubbies user with a rare figure.

The Challenge

As the first in-app mini-game on the Mighty Jaxx app, the key challenge was to define a clear and intuitive entry point from the existing app experience into the game, while navigating technical and platform constraints.

The Approach

We front-loaded alignment with external vendors and stakeholders to ensure design ambitions were grounded in implementation reality from the outset.


When certain animations and interactions proved unfeasible, we treated constraints as a creative brief, iterating to simplify without sacrificing engagement and arriving at an experience that felt polished, playable, and viable to ship.
